This is Nuts!!
How to make your own Trail Mix!

A tasty source of all the things you need to keep you having fun on your bike for longer. So, this is my 'how to' on making a mixture of yummy things to throw in your mouth out on your bike. After visiting the local bike shop to get bits and bobs for the upcoming trip, I nearly always forget to stock up on energy foods....to be honest though a lot of the products out there are selling you a load of bullshit marketing in shiny packet.... The cool thing about this is that you can adjust the ingredients to suite your own needs or tastes!Right, what you need is a mixture of things that will give youquick and immediate energy, slow releasing energy, bit of protein and salts and minerals.
So! Im going to use a mixture of dried fruit, mixture of nuts and some sunflower seeds and pine nuts! The fruit mix is actually a pre-chopped up cake mix so it keeps it a bit less messy and makes mixing a bit easier! Try to have a few more nuts and seeds than fruit, but you can always experiment with this!
Get a large bowl and empty the packets into it and mix it up!!
Then spread the mix evenly onto a baking tray(s) and place in the oven for about 15mins on about 140'c, turning the mixture about will help get heat evenly around and dry it evenly. This takes some of the stickiness away from the fruit and dries out the mix a bit. I find that this makes it taste a bit nicer and is easier to eat.
Then let mixture cool.
After this then dust the mix with some ground sea salt. Now use sea salt as it contains more minerals, importantly it contains magnesium and this will help prevent cramping of muscles!
If the mixture still feels a little sticky, add a bit of potato flour to coat any of the remaining sticky bits of fruit.
Then place in container or plastic bags, and go have some fun!!!

Skids!
If Skids are for Kids....

then i'm not growing up!
Never stop skidding people! its one of the best joys of riding a bike! Ok so you might be melting and tearing away a fifty quid tyre...but sod it for those few seconds of feeling like the Dukes of Hazard blitzing around a corner with a plume of dust and grit getting spat into the air!
Yeeeeeeeehaaaa!!!
Go on! get out side and do a skid now! Grab that old tyre that your keeping in the shed 'cause its 'still got a bit of life in it' and slap it on the bike and shred that sucka to bits! all in the name of feeling like your driving the General Lee!!
